What we publish
Littleton Physical Therapy publishes consumer product reviews and comparisons covering home physical therapy equipment, recovery gear, and rehabilitation tools. Our reviews are written from a consumer perspective — focusing on build quality, specifications, value, customer feedback, and product-to-product comparisons.
What we do not publish
We do not publish:
- Diagnoses of medical conditions
- Treatment recommendations for specific medical conditions
- Medical advice as a substitute for licensed care
- Therapy protocols intended to replace professional supervision
- Claims that any product cures, treats, or prevents disease
Use of "for [condition]" framing
You may see articles on our site titled "Best Foam Roller for Sciatica" or "Best Massage Gun for IT Band Syndrome." This framing reflects how shoppers commonly search for products — not a clinical claim that a specific product will resolve that condition. Always consult a licensed physical therapist before purchasing equipment to address a particular health issue.
Equipment use safety
Many physical therapy products carry contraindications — circumstances under which they should not be used. Examples:
- TENS units should not be used over a cardiac pacemaker, on the carotid sinus, or during pregnancy without medical supervision.
- Compression garments may be contraindicated in deep vein thrombosis (DVT), peripheral artery disease, or severe edema.
- Percussion massage guns should not be used on injured tissue, fresh surgical sites, varicose veins, or directly on bone.
- Heating pads should not be used on areas with reduced sensation, on infants, or while sleeping.
Our reviews mention general safety considerations where relevant, but they are not exhaustive. Read the manufacturer instructions and consult a licensed PT or physician before use, especially if you have any underlying medical condition.
When to seek professional care
If you are experiencing any of the following, stop using home equipment and seek professional medical care:
- New or worsening pain that does not improve with rest
- Numbness, tingling, or weakness in a limb
- Loss of bowel or bladder control
- Severe swelling, redness, or warmth at an injury site
- Pain following trauma where a fracture cannot be ruled out
- Chest pain, shortness of breath, or other cardiopulmonary symptoms
No physician-patient relationship
Reading this site does not create a physician-patient or therapist-client relationship. We do not provide individualized advice and cannot answer specific medical questions over email or our contact form.
Emergencies
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (United States) or your local emergency number immediately.
